Change CSV Delimiter and Coordinate Format

Match CSV outputs to the receiving system.

Use this when

The system receiving your CSV expects a specific column separator. These settings apply to all CSV exports: ping data, bathymetry, and intensity.

Before you start

Open HumVision Settings. You do not need a recording open to change these settings.

Change the delimiter

  1. Open Settings from the sidebar.
  2. Click Export in the left navigation list.
  3. Under CSV Export, find the Delimiter row.
  4. Open the dropdown and choose one of:
  • Comma (,) — default, works with most tools
  • Tab — use when values may contain commas
  • Semicolon (;) — common in European locales where commas are decimal separators
  1. The setting saves immediately. Your next export will use the new separator.

Turn column headers on or off

In the same CSV Export card, toggle Include Headers to add or remove the column-name row at the top of every CSV file.

GPS coordinate format in CSV exports

The GPS Format setting (found in the Coordinates card under Export in Settings) does not transform the coordinates written to CSV files. All three CSV formats (ping data, bathymetry, and intensity) write raw decimal-degree values (lat, lon) regardless of how the GPS Format is set. If you need DMS-formatted coordinates, use the GPX or KML export, then convert with your GIS tool.

What you should see

Settings take effect on the next export. No confirmation dialog appears. Open a fresh export and check the first row to confirm the delimiter or header change.

If it does not work

  • Exported file still uses the old delimiter — you may have exported before the settings panel finished saving. Close the export dialog, re-open it, and try again.
