Work Offline in the Field

Use HumVision at launch points with no cell or Wi-Fi service.

Use this when

You are deploying to a search area with no cell service or Wi-Fi and need to use HumVision throughout the operation.

Before you start

  • Sign in to HumVision at least once while connected to the internet. HumVision stores your license locally after a successful sign-in.
  • HumVision needs to reach the internet at least once every 90 days to verify your license. If you are approaching that window, connect and launch HumVision before leaving for the field.
  • Recordings open and review fully offline. No internet connection is needed to load sonar, mark targets, or export reports once your license is active.

Check your offline status before leaving

  1. Open HumVision while connected to the internet.
  2. Click your account name or the status area in the sidebar.
  3. Look at the Account section. If you see a yellow warning banner, your license check-in is overdue. Connect to the internet and restart HumVision to refresh it.
  4. If no warning is shown, you are within the offline window and can work offline.

Work offline at the launch point

  1. Launch HumVision. It will detect no internet connection and skip the network check.
  2. Open your recording from the SD card or a copied folder as normal.
  3. Review channels, mark contacts, add notes, and run exports. All of these work without a connection.
  4. When you return to a connected location, HumVision will refresh your license automatically on the next launch.

What you should see

The top bar shows a small Offline indicator when no internet connection is detected. Everything else in the app works the same. Your contacts and notes save locally and will sync to your team when you reconnect.

If it does not work

  • Yellow banner on the home screen — your last successful check-in was more than 30 days ago. You can still open recordings, but connect and relaunch before the 90-day window closes to avoid a lockout.
  • App shows a lock screen and won't open recordings — your license has not checked in for more than 90 days. Connect to the internet and relaunch. HumVision will re-verify your license and restore access automatically.
  • App asks you to sign in again after 90 days offline — this is expected. Sign in once while connected. You do not need to re-enter your license key.
  • Recordings are missing from the library — if you opened them from an SD card that is no longer connected, plug the card back in and reopen the folder.
