Cancel or Regenerate a Mosaic

Stop a running mosaic or rerun one with new settings.

Use this when

You want to stop a mosaic that is taking too long, or you want to rerun generation with a different resolution after seeing the first result.

Cancel a running mosaic

  1. While the "Generating mosaic" progress overlay is visible, click Cancel.
  2. Generation stops immediately. The progress overlay disappears and no result is shown.
  3. The map returns to showing only the GPS track.

Cancelling does not harm the recording. You can generate again at any time.

Regenerate with new settings

After a mosaic has finished, the Generate Mosaic button in the bottom control bar changes to Regenerate.

  1. Change the resolution by clicking 0.5 m, 0.25 m, or 0.1 m.
  2. Click Regenerate.
  3. The previous result clears and the new generation run starts.

You can also click Regenerate without changing any settings to run again with the same options — for example, after loading a corrected version of the recording.

What you should see

After cancelling: the map shows the GPS track with no mosaic overlay. The Generate Mosaic button is active again.

After regenerating: the progress overlay runs through its phases and a new mosaic appears on the map when complete. The status bar updates to reflect the new grid dimensions.

If it does not work

  • Cancel button is not visible — the progress overlay only appears while generation is active. If the overlay is gone, generation has already finished or errored.
  • Regenerate button is greyed out — another generation run is already in progress. Wait for it to finish or click Cancel first.
  • New result looks the same as the old one — if you did not change the resolution, the output will be identical for the same recording. Adjust the resolution or export settings before clicking Regenerate.
