Edit or Delete Contacts, Annotations, and Measurements

Update or remove items you previously placed.

Use this when

You need to update a label, fix a classification, change annotation text, or remove an item you placed by mistake.

Edit a contact

You can open a contact for editing from two places:

  • From the canvas — select the Cursor tool (press V), then click the contact pin. The Contact dialog opens.
  • From the Contacts list — click any row in the Contacts panel. The Contact dialog opens and the canvas scrolls to that ping.

In the Contact dialog:

  1. Change any of the editable fields: Label, Classification, Confidence, Length, Width, Height, or Notes.
  2. Click Save.

To delete from the dialog: click Delete in the bottom-left corner, then confirm in the prompt.

Delete a contact from the list

Hover over a row in the Contacts list. A delete icon appears on the right side of the row. Click it and confirm the prompt. The contact is permanently removed.

Edit an annotation

You can open an annotation for editing from two places:

  • From the canvas — select the Cursor tool (press V), then click the annotation marker. The Annotation dialog opens.
  • From the Annotations list — click any row. The Annotation dialog opens and the canvas scrolls to that ping.

In the Annotation dialog:

  1. Change the Type or Text.
  2. Click Save.

To delete from the dialog: click Delete in the bottom-left corner, then confirm.

Delete an annotation from the list

Hover over a row in the Annotations list. A delete icon appears on the right side of the row. Click it to delete immediately (no confirmation prompt).

Delete a measurement

Measurements do not have an edit dialog. To remove one:

  • From the Measurements list — hover over the row. A delete icon appears on the right side. Click it to remove immediately.

There is no way to edit a measurement's recorded values after drawing. Redraw the measurement if the result was wrong.

What you should see

After saving an edit, the updated label or text appears immediately on the canvas and in the list. After deleting, the item disappears from both. Deletion cannot be undone.

If it does not work

  • Clicking a pin on the canvas opens nothing — confirm the Cursor tool is active (press V). Other tools do not open the editor on click.
  • Delete icon does not appear — hover directly over the list row. The icon fades in on hover and is hidden otherwise.
  • Contact dialog opens but Save is unresponsive — the Label field cannot be empty. If you cleared it, the dialog falls back to the original label on save; this is expected behavior.
